About Forum for Global Studies

The Forum for Global Studies (FGS) is a Delhi based independent, non-profit, nonpartisan Think Tank run under the aegis of Nandan Foundation which is governed under the Indian Trusts Act, 1882.  The Forum was formed on Sep 2021, during the times of global uncertainties, marked by the on-going pandemic, supply chain disruptions and in the wake of hasty withdrawal of the United States Armed Forces from Afghanistan, which was concluded on 30 August 2021. This situation fuelled the need for India to apply a de novo approach in independently engaging with the new international economic and political order, especially in the light of emerging stature of our country, to build coherent policy response mechanisms.

The idea was to bring together leading academicians, business leaders, experts, policymakers, intellectuals and institutions, both Indian and foreign, to present their analytical studies and serve mature agendas to the general public and policy makers, in India’s interest. The major areas of focus were, but not limited to, Geopolitics, Geo-economics, National Security and Defence, Energy, Climate and Trade. Thus, the Forum centres on cutting-edge research, which leverages extensive academia-industry partnerships.

We encourage and seek to engage with the institutions and students from the ibid fields to foster knowledge sharing at the ground level while providing them insights of foreign experts on a truly international platform. Towards this goal, we have already been able to sign MoUs with two leading Universities namely Woxsen University, Hyderabad and Maharashtra National Law University, Aurangabad and invited as partner institution with GEBRICS, University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. These collaborations are expected to mutually benefit both, us and our partners, but the students are likely to be the biggest beneficiary. Further, we look forward to generating synergy by partnering with global think tanks, known for their credible work and analysis.
