Course Overview

Tech Diplomacy sits at the intersection of technology, policy, and industry, a new discipline that examines the impact of critical and emerging technologies on global trade, international relations, domestic policy, commercial activities, human activities, and society at large. In this course, we will explain what tech diplomacy is, why it matters, and how you can become a tech diplomat. This course explores the growing challenges associated with emerging technologies, including cyber breaches, exploitation of people, erosion of privacy, and insecure supply chains.

 

We will also look at the many exciting opportunities that technology enables, such as profound medical breakthroughs and transformative product developments, which are positively impacting human performance and longevity. Whether you’re a diplomat, policymaker, or a tech-savvy individual interested in gaining a new understanding of technology on a global scale, this short online course provides a critical foundation in Tech Diplomacy.  Join us for an engaging and informative workshop on Digital Diplomacy, where you can examine the real-world case studies where technology plays a decisive role in channelizing the diplomatic efforts. This cutting-edge workshop is designed for early age diplomats, strategic thinkers, policy makers, International Affairs Scholars and students eager to master policy and strategy in one of the world’s most dynamic regions.

Program Objective

This workshop aims to explore the evolving landscape of diplomacy in the digital age from statecraft in cyberspace to the power of social media in shaping global narratives. Participants will gain key insights into how diplomacy is being redefined in the digital era covering topics such as cyber diplomacy, digital tools in international relations, and strategic communication.

Structure

This workshop will feature two intensive sessions over two days, requiring a total commitment of just 2 hours per day. The participants will have to attend two sessions, scheduled on Thursday and Friday. Timing of the Sessions: 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
